I have tried to follow the Tynan line with little success. I was under the impression at one time that Mary Ann Hindle was the wife of Eliza Anne's father william which would have made Eliza Anne her daughter. After finding mary anne's wedding certificate to William Hindle I noted that Mary anne was down as a spinster and therefore had never been married before. She was 25 years old. Also the fact that her father was scribed as a Thomas Tynan. This now looks like Eliza Anne and Mary Anne were not mother and daughter but in fact possible cousins making Thomas and William brothers. Again nothing has been found and this is totally guesswork.

There is definate connections as on the 1911 Census below, You can clearly see Bertie Hindle as a boarder with Eliza Anne and George Unsworth

Below is a photograph  of Backway, C 1960's. looking up from Tenters Street, towards where the family's resided.which is just out of  View.

Storeback way or Westgate Road
No 11 Backway may have been part of Blackboy Yard, Named after the Blackboy public house. see below.

In 1901 alongside Mary Ann and her husband William Hindle, were to be found their Son Bertie Hindle, and Daughter Sarah Jane Hindle. They had another three children that were not named on the 1911 Census. Names unknown at this present time but possibles are included above.

George met Eliza Anne in Bishop Auckland or Eliza had connections in Manchester. Whichever, they met, and in 1901 Eliza Ann aged  20 years, was pregnant and In that year the couple arrived  in Manchester at the residence of Martha Whitfield. This was the house of George's sister. at 108  Eccleshall St,Clayton, Prestwich. They were married the same year at the Prestwich Register Office.

The baby, named George died within a short time.

On the 1911 Census (See below) For George and Eliza Ann Unsworth , resident in South Terrace, can be seen a Boarder by the name of Bertie Hindle, aged 26 years. This would be Mary Ann's son and Eliza's possible second cousin.   They were all to be found living at no 6 South Terrace, Bishop Auckland, Picture of south terrace below.

South Terrace, Which no longer exists

In the same year, the 1911 Census for  Mary Anne and William showed them to be residing at Hawthorn cottages. This took some searching to locate,, but eventually I managed to track these premises down. Hawthorn cottages were situated just behind Tenters street.( Now the bus station).very close to backway. In finding this address I also discovered that next door, stood  Hawthorn house. The cottages were tied to the house  and the landlord turned out to be part of the Wilsons Forge empire. Robert Wilson. This may explain George's employment at the forge before changing to the electrical company. The area had various streets within the location of Hawthorn cottages, like Thompson street and Granger street. This has all  disappeared. The area was flattened to make way for government offices and at one time the very regal Odeon Cinema. The cinema has long gone and a bus station now sits where this close little community led its daily exsistance. See maps below.
Call 561 shows the actual Cottages attached to Hawthorn House. top shows previous area before the cottages were built.

The  following map shows Bishop Auckland as it was in 1912.

1. Brown shows location of Hawthorn Cottages, 2. green shows Backway, 3. Red shows Gregory's yard.

There were Hindle descendants iving in Helena Street, Bishop Auckland. But no contact has been possible at this time. This is as far back as I have traced the Hindle line at this time and it may be that the hindles came from Darlington area.  A ny information relating to the Hindle or Tynan family would be most welcome.
